Secret Video: Bin Laden Exposed

After watching images, like this one below, of Bin Laden pathetically watching himself in a narcissistic trance, we searched for other pictures that could illustrate how he is an instantiation of what Hannah Arendt called the “banality of evil.” We found a link to a video clip that completely captures this idea–click the URL at bottom.

From the picture, Bin Laden is wearing a blanket, which suggests that it is cold, and this may be at night. The room appears to be remarkably shabby and disorganized. He is sitting on the floor, which suggests he prefers not to use a chair. Keyboards are not visible, which suggests he did not spend time communicating to others, mostly receiving information. His beard appears gray, suggesting that he has aged considerably. The wall color suggests the spartan aspect of his life. There are no photographs, no pictures.
